Austin

Nestled in Central Texas at the eastern border of the American Southwest, Austin stands as the proud capital of Texas, the Lone Star State. Its roots trace back to the 1830s, when the initial Anglo-American pioneers ventured into the region, which was then a part of Mexico. In 1837, these settlers established the village of Waterloo along the Colorado River, marking the region's inaugural permanent settlement. Just two years later, in 1839, the village adopted the name Austin, in honor of Stephen F. Austin, fondly known as the "Father of Texas," and evolved into the esteemed capital of the Republic of Texas.
